An Instagram Update

Happy New Year everyone!  My holiday season was hectic, but so wonderful.  Here's an Instagram update to get you caught up on what's been going on!

1.  Mary asked me to be her matron of honor.  I am thrilled, but am trying to get over the title... "matron" sounds so old!
2.  I received lots of cards from clients, totally love having my pictures featured on family Christmas cards.
3.  We saw Santa, I thought it more appropriate that I sit on Dan's lap.
4.  Our house divided nutcrackers.  Fingers crossed that my team can win their bowl game!
5.  I delivered Sprinkles cupcakes as gifts, and somehow forgot to buy one for myself.  Very sad day.
6.  We loaded up all the presents for our marathon of Christmas get-togethers.
7.  Hot chocolate marshmallow face, don't judge the styrofoam.
8.  My husband as a five year old, love that little afro.  I hope we have babies that look just like him (but not anytime soon).
9.  It was a good Christmas for me!  I got lots of photography equipment that I can't wait to try out!
10.  Bloomington received a foot of snow while we were there.  We had so much fun and played for hours.
11.  Testing the traction on my new boots, they'll never see that much snow in Dallas.
12.  Our 6 foot snowman giving a friendly wave. His face is made of dark chocolate truffles, naturally.

Thank You

Today we're embarking on our 1,880 mile road trip to see all of our family for Christmas because, obviously, we're crazy.

But before I go, I can't think of a better way to end 2012 than by thanking you.

Thank you to friends and clients that made my first year as an official photographer so rewarding and successful.  You've given me the opportunity to do something I love.  You have let me experiment with lighting and props, you have trusted me with your children, you have let me feature you on my blog and have provided the kindest testimonials (stay tuned for a blog section featuring your sweet notes).  You made 2012 amazing.  I have learned so much this year and I am excited to see where this business will go in the years to come.

I also have to thank all of you blog viewers.  While you might not be clients, seeing those website hits puts a smile on my face.  I love being a part of your day.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.  I'll catch you next year.

Mary & Brad {McKinney Engagement Photographer}

Meet Mary and Brad and their sweet puppy Halen.  Mary was my maid of honor, so obviously I'm in love with her, and Brad is pretty awesome too.  We met up at the site of their proposal, near the Eldorado Country Club, for their engagement session.  I love that Brad picked a special place to propose.  They have lots of memories there over the 9 years they've been together.

I had a hard time picking which photos to post because they are all so cute, and I cannot look at the photos of Halen wearing that Santa hat without cracking up- she was not happy about it!

Mary and Brad, I hope you enjoy your photos and I cannot wait to be a part of your special day!

An Instagram Update

The holidays have been keeping us busy... and we have four Christmas parties this weekend.  I love this time of year though, no matter how busy we are.  Here's a quick update from the past month.

1.  The Arboretum with Dan... I gawk at the pumpkins and he impresses me with his horticulture knowledge.
2.  Chihuly at the Arboretum, this one reminds me of floating Christmas ornaments.
3.  White Rock Lake in the fall... I would love to do a photo session here, anyone interested?!
4.  One of my favorite restaurants, Whisky Cake, their cow creamers keep me entertained.
5.  Avery at her 2nd birthday, wearing the oven mitt we got her.  She is too cute and is growing too fast!
6.  Commissioned graffiti downtown, helping keep Dallas beautiful.
7.  Jenga and coffee with friends, realizing we act way older than we are, and that I'm a sore loser.
8.  Cuddle time with Evelyn after her photo session.
9.  What I'm reading, in my mind it's being narrated by Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr.
10.  We are in total holiday mode at the Mobley house.  This mess was for cranberry bliss bars.  YUMMO!
11.  One room in our house has turned into the wrapping room.
12.  I love this ornament, I got it for Dan's first Christmas in Texas.

Welcome Home Sweet Evelyn {North Dallas Newborn Photographer}

Sara and Brandon are great friends of ours.  I was thrilled when they asked me to capture their baby girl after her arrival home.  Evelyn is such a sweet baby and I can't get enough of her.  She has even won the affection of her big beagle sister, Bailey.  I hope you enjoy her photos!
